how to retain outlook settings… if my xp crashes or i have to change the system, i need to do the following…
a. Take all my mails to new system… that is easy by copying the outlook pst file
b. But how do i save a backup of all my contacts created by me…
c. How can i save email settings… the problem is i will use pop for all my emails, and that means around 12-13 email created for different reasons… so everytime i install xp, i dont want to keep setting the emails one at a time… can this effor be saved…???
I have Outlook configured with GMail as well and dont have this problem. If you have an anti-virus which integrates with Outlook try disabling that and check.
Free Yahoo cant be set up with Outlook. They’ve reserved that service for their premium account holders. The same seems to be now true for Hotmail (you need a MSN subscription) as well though I distinctly remember having it configured with Outlook years ago..
I suppose you can use the Windows Files and Settings wizard for this though I havent tried it.
if you have problems with it , search for and download Gmail POP troubleshooter . might help you ..
Outlook , I’m sure you can export settings! just go to your accounts info and export settings .. . I think there is a setting in gmail to re-download the whole thing or to just download new mails from xx:xx time and date. as for your other problems , I have no clue..
I think only gmail supports free POP . for Yahoo! you’ve to pay or something lol.. not too sure. Hotmail hmm.. dunno
