Better wait for AMDās quadcores. They are the real deal 
yeah most people here worry abt games too muchā¦so its useless tech for them āfor the momentā. For āother thingsā its a BOONā¦almost twice the perfomance.
What āother thingsā are you referring to? Currently, very few apps will be able to take advantage of > 2 cores.
All 3d apps, most audio and video editing apps make use of multi cores. The more the merrier

Sometimes it takes 2 months to render out 30 min sequences even on large render farmsā¦quadcores cut the time in half. Do I need to say what it means if the same job can be done in half the timeā¦
LOL now we have something like Octal Core on its Way.:S:S
I took an year to render out final fantasy on massive uber render farms. It wont take 1 month for the same in the future.
