UPDATE : Seriously WTF…the RAM works “FLAWLESS” in my other system and when I try booting my other system with the “Same” ram it doesnt boot any more which it always did…wat ? how ?
ok first of all can u check the RAM on ur new rig with memtest to see if mayb the RAM is dying and ur old proccy is getting picky about it
or maybe boot using the old ram in old rig, set bios ram fsb to say 266 or 200 and then plug in this RAM stick and see if it boots up (if ur mb is getting picky abt a dying ram, this is one way to kno it)
try switching RAM Slots. maybe the slots are at fault ?

what i was referring to was not dual channel , if the chips are different chances are timings are different anyways,that doesn’t seem to be the issue here, seems to be an issue with the board.
Again there is absolutely no info on the chips or the board…model number, brand … anything!? Sometimes baords have very specific problems…My K8N cant run two similar sticks at 400Mhz,it runs at 333and i have to OC it to 400. its just one of those problems.
Which reminds me, try flashing your motherboard BIOS to the latest revision might help … Which brings me back to the first question…which mobo, what RAM :S ?

amd 2600+ / via chipset and bios is flashed to the latest and NO OC. has been running the same setup no changes since DEC 04.

asus p4ge mbb / 2.4 ghz…runing with 512+256 …both different 512=transend , 256- hynix…
have tried swapping the ram in both the ram slots and gives the same problem as far as the ram exists in either of the slot. i dont think it can be a ram slot issue…cause the solo ram fails to load windows on the 2600+ while on the pentium works like a charm…
details on the “chips” the transend is running later on…
