Reccomendation:Memory Card for Digital Camera

I have decided to buy the Canon S3-IS camera(around 360-380$)
a friend of mine will be getting it from US.
need suggestions as to what brand/speed memory(SD card) to buy with it.
i would like to keep my budget for the memory to about 50$.

do i need to buy a fast SD card (133X) for recording the highest quality video
on the camera?

Also, would it be wise to get a rechargable batteries set alongwith it or
should i buy it locally.I stay in mumbai.

currently i have checked only newegg.com for the rates/deals.
please suggest other sites if there are better ones.

hey man i was planing on buying the same camera but take a look at the Sony DSC H2 its got the same config better pic quality lesser noise at higher ISO and a cheaper price tag

i had considered the H2 before making my decision.
had checked out the image differences at dpreview.com.
i decided on buying the S3-IS bcoz i really liked the “movable” LCD.
the minor noise difference doesnt really matter as much.
