2day i booked my first (lcd) tv - samsung LA46A550P - its a 5 series 46 inch, lcd tv,
i took it for 83k, with 1 yr warranty , is this model good??? at this price??
any other model which i should take?? plz , this is my first big buy tv, i will be using it for gaming, , movies, and lots of tv, i got analog tv,

well at that price point its a good choice its only beaten by the sony KLV-46W400A which costs twice as samsung.
the cheaper sony KLV-46V400A which costs same at 83000 has more contrast and better blacks but the samsung has a better image processing since it gives a sharp output.
although both the sony KLV-46V400A and sony KLV-46W400A use the same panel and both advertised as BRAVIA engine 2 ,the KLV-46W400A has clearly better image output probably due to a better image processing and different backlight.
im guessing since u said 12 hours .. you still have time to change ur options.. hehe..
anyways its a decent option for 83k although i bought my brother the same tv for 80k (about 2 weeks back i think).. i personally prefer plasma’s over lcd since in lcd’s if you look from close the picture becomes pixelated and also lcd’s brighten and colour a picture to much and it starts looking unreal.
And hence i bought the panasonic 42" plasma instead for myself. Although its not full hd but its darn good.
but anyways in the lcd this is the best bet you have right now! enjoy ur tv!
changed my plans to 40" samsung 5 series , due to space problem (furniture has to be remade coz the width is 1 inch small for 46" lcd) and doing this would have costed atleast 20-25k more ,
so going for a samsung 40"a550 for 57k + ps3 40gb (xtended warranty ) for 26k
well just for the information on how advanced LCD technology is here is comparision images of panasonic TH-42PX71 the model before the new PV80,PV85etc VS the sony KDL-40V4000 or also called KLV-40V400A in asia.
in these images u can see the response time there best and worst performances.
AWESOME !!! gr8 comparision , i m getting tat price from alfa (irla road) and vijay sales sux , they r costly, u can even try kohinoor, getting 79k offer for 46" sammy 5 series !!!
my suggestion would be to go for the 6 series samsung if ur bugdet permits,currently it has the best picture , also if u are dont mind a plasma try to search for the pioneer kuro 42 ,
he might as well go for the sony W series rather then the 6 series,the sony has a 8 to 10% contrast advantage.well pioneer kuro would be great but its quite expensive.
actually u should not go by the contrast ratio and stuff ,the best way to judge is to see it in person, and after seing the samsung 6 in action i would rate it higher than the sony x series.The only minus about the samy is its a got a glossy screen
well the X series that u saw has a older genertion panel ,where as the samsung has the latest panel.the sonys new KDL-??X4500 is just around the corner and it uses the same panel as the one u find in samsung series 5,6 and sony V,W series.
