Errr…as per Cnet, they have made a comeback under a word-something name…differentiating from scrabble. SO search for that instead 
Instead of a facebook applet, they have opened their own site now which I have posted.
Its working fine in IE, only FF is giving me issues, just noticed that flash plugin for FF is absent, how do I install the plug in ?
The FB app has been reincarnated. With a few lesser players, at the moment though.
And on their official site, I guess its a Java applet. The game works fine on my JRE5 + FF3.
