seagate 500gb wrong model?

Yesterday i got this model SEAGATE: ST3500320SV[35.3 series].I thought
this is the only 500gb model in seagate :flushed_face: only today i found out their is this model ST35003200AS with perpendicular recording and more :frowning: .
I paid RS 3950. Is this a good HDD? did i make a wrong purchase :thinking: .Thanks

the shopkeeper has given u an OLD model …the 35.3 series no doubt is good ( i personally use one of 250GB) …but the 7200.11 is better in speed and performance…talk to the dealer and see if he is ready to change it for the newer one…

Like I said its not a faulty product u have been sold but its a old model…for eg. u go to buy Pulsar 150 Dtsi and u are sold the old Pulsar Classic 150 non dtsi model :rofl: :lol:

Ok went to my dealer who said this was a new drive and i dont have to worry.
i told him what u said that the model was old the new one AS was much faster ,less power hungry,and was 7200.11.so he got on the phone with someone and cameback to me that ST3500320AS has only 8 mb buffer:rolleyes:.I said noway.He agin got on the phone and insisted the same :@ .I said ok get me on a pc(internet) i will show u what i say on the seagate website itself.Again he got on the phone:frusty: and atlast said i was right:clapping:.Told me to come tommorow to pick it up :peace: .
Hanzy if it was not for u i wouldnt have gone to the dealer today.i owe u 1 man:hug: .

:clapping: hurrraaaaay! enjoy the faster model…on second thoughts…haress the dealer tomorrow saying u dont want the 500 gig now and get the 640gig :lol: …else u can take the 7200.11 …good the dealer agreed for an exchange as well…make sure u format the disk and erase any personal info on the hdd before u give it back to the dealer :slight_smile:

Good to see the likelihood of a quick and happy solution… and yes try to get the 640gb drive since the dealer seemed to have charged you a bit higher than what he should have…try to bargain a bit better if you can make him give you a 640gigger.

Hey i got the model the sticker says BARRACUDA 7200.11 500 GIGABYTES
FIRMWARE: SD15
PRODUCT OF THAILAND.
no mention of buffer size.
I pestered him for wd hdd he said its after sales service sucks:P .
i told him the price was high .he asked me where did i got the quote
i said thr the net.he also mentioned that seagate commands a premium:bounce: .
He got pretty pissed off though:rofl:.
Finally he lost his composure and said if ur not happy i will refund the cash:argue:.
So i bought the barracuda only to learn later that the dealer gets a higher commission for the older model.so when i asked him to lower the price of the new one he went berserk :unamused_face:.
hey I did not get angry when he gave the wrong model and i had to travell 2 hrs on dadar express then boarded a bus [total 4hrs]+meals chennai is not cheap anyway:@.by the time i reach my village it would have transformed itself into a ghost town:rofl:.large paddy fields on either side of the road,
