Budget 17-20k
I am not sure wheather I want a photographers type camera with all fancy adjustments or such or a simple type… point shoot click…

Canon’s give more natural colors…check out the powershot A710IS. brilliant compact model.
For a pseudo DSLR try the S3IS

Canon S2 IS or S3 IS are your best choices. Will give you DSLR type looks and some of the DSLR functions with an ease of use of a point and shoot camera. Not sure about the cost though.

S3IS sucks indoors and with less than ideal lighting. I’ve tested it. Bought two for friends back home, and they ain’t satisfied either.
The powershot a710is is good.

S3-IS is out of the budget for local buy but imho, the best cam for 20k is the w100 fron sony. Its a 8mp cam and contrary to the w70, it uses a 1/1.8" sensor, which is a bigger sensor and hence better pics.

The Sony H series excels at that..that’s the reason I picked up the Sony H over the Canon S

^ Yep the H5 owns the S3 IS indoors, but sadly has noise issues above ISO 400 like most Sony’s
I seriously doubt if any mid-end camera is any good over even ISO200
ISO 400, and bot the Sony and Canon get noisy…god forbid if you try going any higher !
