I was thinking about the Canon Powershot A630, but the battery thingy put me off, I can’t afford to put in new cells everytime.
I am planning to buy it from US if price difference here is huge. So does digital camera come with international warranty? Is it advisable to get the camera from abroad ?
If u want a small camera then SD600/700 or A530. Don’t waste money on 630… there’s hardly anything extra. Or if you wanna spend more then the S3 IS is a very good option. For cheap cams, nothing beats canon. Infact nothing beats canon top to bottom these days unless you photograph landscapes exclusively which is nikon’s domain. If you want a camera that actually makes use of the 8MP resolution, then get a DSLR. There’s no use of an 8mp camera that has a 1/1.8" or 1/2.5" sensor :P.
Edit: Forgot to mention… no camera has international warranty.
I forget..which is bigger. 1/1.8 or 1/2.5? Anyways…I’m also on the lookout for a good digicam. Had my heart set on a Canon A640 but Canon does not have 3:2 mode which is what I would like in case I decide to get 4X6 prints.
Anyways, I changed my mind and decided to go the sony way. Am currently interested in the W100 which is sony’s top of the line w series product but horrendously priced at 25K (official). Waiting for prices to drop(really wish sony released the dsc-w7 officially. Would’ve purchased one then. The new W series are as big as a deck of playing cards and as thin. Problem is, there just isn’t enough grip.)
I think the diffrence between the grey and bill prices are not big these days expect for nikon…except nikon every other brand price diffrence is very less so it is better to go for with bill …
No, thats not correct. Panasonic Lumix range is regarded much better than Canon’s in all areas, take features, lense or stabilization, it simply amazing. I personally use Lumix as my travel cam whenever I do not want to take my other expensive cameras and lenses. Search few forums, dpreview etc and you will see echo of what I said.
However, camera is personal choice and if you like Canon, you should go with it. Your creativity will count more than any camera.
The site owns… has way better customer service ratings than amazon and for 10$ more u get a leather camera case too. What u are thinking of may not be possible with amazon but is definitely possible with b&h cos i did the same thing.
