Guys i have only one mission left in COD2… i love the game… Now that i am going to complete i wanna decide the next game i wanna play and want suggestions…
first i will tell the constraints i have and the rig i have… rig is
Athlon XP 2600+
VIA KT400A chipset mobo - MSI KT4AV-L
Hynix 2 x 256MB 400MHz @ 333MHz 2.5-3-3-7 @1T
GF4 Ti4400
Seagate 200GB baracuda with 8MB buffer
wanna play 1024 * 768 as i have a 17inch monitor
wanna play with decent graphics with the config i have (i wud prefer playing a game with decent graphics rather than better game in low graphics)
know that most of have gr8 graphics cards… and that todays games are really demanding… so u might suggest that i upgrade my card n proc… but i cant do that for another 6 months as i have made other big investments…
i was able to play COD2 at 1024 * 768 at medium settings with 2x AA in DX 9 mode… the frame rate is good and playable…
Now that u have read the above suggest me some games… FPS or TPS or War games
I just have one suggestion, i dont think 1 GB will help u performance wise on your current config, only thing is load times will improve. I would think that ud be much better off spending that money on better gfx.
How come Call of duty 2 run smoothly on 1024 resolution with medium graphics when it runs on 640 reso and lowest graphics on my friends athlon 3200 , 1 gb ram , onboard geforce 6100 ? Care to ellaborate ?
Anyways as far as games are concerened godfather wud be a good option if u have interest in games like GTA !

If you can run COD 2 on ur comp without lag on 1024 resolution , then u will have absolutely no problems running any of the above games !
Oh sorry I did’nt see that u r having a GF4 , but anyways I think 512 mb is not sufficient for recent games ! BTW I am sure every game in that list will atleast run on ur comp, hope it helps u !
cod2 is kinda different.. in which it has 2 modes. dx7 and a dx9.. it would run in dx7 mode on your comp… running at dx9 would really cripple the gameplay!
the games in bluffmaster`s list would run on your comp.. but ya doom3/bf2/pacific assault(its not european assault, which is for the consoles) would run slower most prolly..
Yeah but he says he runs cod2 in dx 9 mode, anyways i think bf2 will not run on his comp but battlefield 1942 will , I think doom3 should run just fine on low-med settings !

anyways.. even i would advise not to go for 1gb of ram… cause its not much of use.. to you..
saying this cause i used to have the mx 440se/athlon 2400+, 512 mb ram .. and i played all the games in tat list excluding the ones which dont work on the mx440se.. and they all ran without any glitches ..
