Is a 15" TFT LCD monitor a worthy upgrade for my old 15" crt ?
do u have any other recommendations with their respective prices?
in-built speakers are not necessary..

At 10k I would suggest you Samsung 740N LCD you can get it at 9-9.5k ~ else if you can increase the budget by a k or 2 then get Viewsonic 19" Wide screen at 11.5-12k ~ would be better 
The viewsonic 1912 is for around 10.5K IIRC, get that, decent screen

If you are going for 17" get the 740 N from Samsung as it the Te defacto these day

hmm hay guys,… ill go a lil off topic here as i don wanna start a new thread just for this… im getting the ViewSonic VG2030wm TFT in couple of days.. already ordered for 14,400 (guess its a good deal) its a 20 incher and sports 1680x1050 res…
so my major concers is that with X1900XT g card … will i be able to play games decently on this monitor..??? how how scalable are 20" monitors??
any advice appreciated…

As long as your card supports it the monitor can play the games at any res u want.
now for the scaling thing, there is no problem whatsoever, u can google it.
a personal opinion, if u go for a monitor above 19" and want games to be perfect go for a 21" monitor and a powerful card to support it like a 8800gts would suffice.
hmm thanx… was thinking bout going 8800 but… still want to wait for ATI 
dont think i can wait long.. but lets hope ATI does something …
