Ok, on a serious note,
i was wondering why at times, when i click the latest post in a forum on the main index page, i am taken to the first post or to some random post a page before the last page or something like that some times.:S

I haven’t actually been alert enough to keep note if that random post also has some knd of repeated pattern.

Happened to few few times on IE6, IE7 and FF too.:no:
(Yeah- i finally gave FF a go a few months back after Funky fell off his chair in disgust when he heard i was on IE6.)

And take your time- i am not even sure if this is an issue.

Its not an issue, as far as I know, its all about cookies and records.
If I am not wrong, this relates to the last post you have read in the thread you are wanting to read. Unless you are logged out as a guest, in which case the session lasts for a stipulated time period.

Thus, when you are logged in, clicking on the latest post, will take you to the last post in the thread that was logged as you reading it last.

When u click on the small icons near the thread name, it takes u to the first “unread” post. (First Unread Post Icon → http://www.techenclave.com/forums/custom/teblue/buttons/firstnew.gif )
When u click on the link itself it takes you to the very first post in that thread.

(For Last Post In The Thread Icon → http://www.techenclave.com/forums/custom/teblue/buttons/lastpost.gif )

double shock, first u give a flashy heading, and then u tell us u’ve been using IE:S

about ur question, it’s maybe because the latest post has changed after u last refreshed ur page.

Actually, thats not the reason. The true reason is in my first post. Read the following text.
