I dont know if its a new feature , I have just noticed, but i fail to see the purpose of this .

if i have understood this …

i can create a note only for myself .
i cannot delete it .
others cannot see it .
i cannot choose to show it to anyone ? ( not clear on this )
So i gather , its just to keep tabs on things .

I dont know how many people might use this feature . but i dont see this feature as anything productive or useful , not to say that it wasnt a good initiative on the admin part .

Can someone put some light on this ?

The user notes feature has been around since the forums started if i’m not mistaken! I myself am not too sure what it can be used for, but i guess you can be imaginative in your uses :stuck_out_tongue:

i cannot delete it . - No, you can use the Edit button and then delete it

others cannot see it . - Yes nobody else, except Mods can see it

i cannot choose to show it to anyone ? - Yes, AFAIK there’s no such option of showing it to anyone

i guess maybe the usernotes is part of the vbulletin, and it has been configured by staff/admins so that no one misuses it??? (as in FE :P)

and maybe u don’t get other options - either keep it private or allow for public to create n edit???

i remember posting user notes loooooong back(TA i think or is it TE or FE!!!) :-S not sure though…

I’ve used usenotes on ipb forums too… quite useful if u ask me
