We are glad to announce that all avast! antivirus editions, including the free Home Edition, now support the new Windows Vista platform (both 32-bit and 64-bit builds).
However, for avast! to work on Vista, you need to use one of its most recent versions. Minimum version of avast! Home/Professional required is 4.7.892. If you’re using a previous version, either invoke program update from the avast! user interface, or download and install the latest version from the official download pages.
Hold on with that thought . the basic point of pondering here is , yes it may be a solution , but is it a good one . last i heard symantec and other AV vendors were marching up to EU for not being open enough so that AV’s line norton or pccllin can integrate well with the system to give the good protection that it needs .
not that there are many viruses which affect vista that i have heard of . are there ???
