Wanted: Volunteers for TE Price Guide

Dear Members,

The new “TechEnclave Price Guide” is on its way and we’re looking for volunteers who can provide us with current prices of computer related products and other gadgets. He/She will also be expected to keep the price guide updated regularly. Interested members are requested to PM me as soon as possible in accordance with the following guidelines -

  1. Members having neutral/negative reputation will not be considered.

  2. Members with less than 50 posts will need recommendation from 2 Senior* TE members.

  3. Members with 50-500 posts will need recommendation from 1 Senior* TE member.

  4. Members with more than 500 posts will need no such recommendation.

*Senior members (for this purpose only) are those who’ve registered on TE prior to 1st of July 2006 and have more than 500 posts to their credit. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their record/conduct on TE from the time they registered at TE and may need to go through any other procedure as will be decided later. Decisions of the TE staff will be final and binding in this regard and cannot be contested.

can we have a sticky thread where the rest of us can contribute?

I’m not in for the responsiblity of maintaining it, but we all sure could help out with the prices :smiley:

PS : i hope there is an option for each product for which the rest of us can comment on :D, just like our rig gallery

I suggest! something like deltapage table to be created!

people can just put in the current price…

along with the date it was updated! (also the right to update to be given to only the senior members) dont want people to be messing around with it.

looking at it people can have a rough idea on the last update price… and can judge if the could be a further discount/increase in the local market…

I would have taken up the task myself…

but living in a small** ahem city i doubt i could come up with realistic prices

btw that suggestion of maintaining a table is pretty cool .. have the tables set for diff zones.. i mean like for prices from Lamington, Nehru Place, Ritchie Street etc..

and giving some/senior member the priviledge to edit them as and when the prices fluctuate.. that wd be handy too ..

Something on the lines of the guides and tutorial format.. u open the page and the table comes first irrespective of the page number u open.. and the comments beneath ..

^ +1 for zonal prices. But i hope that the price list is in the market section where it will help in keeping lowballing and overpricing in check.
