I know what u r saying, and i have been there most of the times since i genrally buy stuff from here. I think according to general ethics, The seller will take back the product and return money back if it is DOA. correct me if i have said anything wrong
i think if u buy from the regular sellers here on te i think you shouldnt have any problem.
also te wont be held responsible i feel if the product doesnt work, hence they started the itrader so the buyer can get an idea about the seller & his past sales.
There are issues on both sides here from what I have seen.
There is equally good chance that uneducated buyer spoiling the hardware within few days of purchase and then claiming for return.
Thats where reputation of the seller comes into picture or his contacts to whom he has sold items before.
I have seen some innocent sellers suffer in this math and some innocent buyers suffer as well.
There are some simple things you can take care of to ensure that item while shipping is atleast in same condition as claimed.
Tell seller to post a pic before shipping with his name tag and date written on paper. Good 2-3 pics from all sides will do to insure item is not physically damaged.
A similar very recent screenshot with same thing written on paper. Say in case of memory. Orthos large FFT 1 hour test with cpuz screenie or memtest screenie with 2 instances running. or something similar to other hardware.
And if seller agrees some sort of testing warranty.
Personally even 2 day testing warranty will do as u can check item is ok or not within 1 day. As everyone know hardware fails at any given time. So who is to blame in the end.
If buyer and seller work these things out then nothing like it.
Green squares is the reputation and it usually is a credit of how much the user has served the community. Its a comfortable way of judging the person online, since you know he’s been on TE long enough not to run away after making the sale.
Well see. There are plenty of old members who have been with TE from the start. They are well networked. Many of the staff and other people on forums know them personally, been to their home, they meet regularly.
These guys are not here to dupe anyone or run away anywhere. They are here to stay and will do whatever needed to solve the dispute as they themselves want to continue selling here on TE. Atleast I am here for long haul And i am sure plenty of others are.
So when trading with unknown or lesser known person, do take care and gather enough information and confirm it with them before going through with the deal.
There will always be some deal that goes bad. Thats unavoidable on any big platform like TE. We are all here to help if and when needed. But done hold TE responsible for anything. Its just a platform.
I dont know u
You dont know me. I wont trust anyone just like that. The thing is I have been able to judge people well so far. Everyone knows TE is not responsible. Its clearly stated in the rules.
If you have doubts make some arrangement with the seller. As simple as that. But some people do try to go overboard or listen to people who they should not or believe anyone.
If you are solid, transparent and clear with your dealing you will not get duped.
