Off late i’ve seen a lot of moderators acting on impulse and just closing threads at their whims and fancy with out considering the interest of the members..
I really dont understand the point of a few ppl standing and dictating while clearly the community or atleast a part of it thinks differently(in a genuine way)..
Coming to the point, Wat was the need to close the food section thread??i mean without even letting it run a day the mods just bang the thread close??:@
Really dont understand this TE & FE business..
I want to stay in TE and talk abt things that Atleast a decent majority is comfortable with, im posting in the right section then wat the problem??
If people are spamming clean the threads, ban the spammers, y block the way of Genuine members??
And those who want to go to FE will go…Wat the need of members parading inside threads and saying " Go to FE" and stuff..

i was infact trying to edit my post on the previous thread. for some reason i had made a post which showed exactly the opposite of my true thoughts hehee…
tried to edit it and bang ‘this thread has been closed’.. damn…
anyway.. as long as the ppl are fine with it i dont see why foodie threads shouldnt be allowed..
though i do think that a seperate subforum is uncallled for. i mean.. where were all the interested ppl all this while food has just come up over the past coupla days.. you’ll get over it
make as many threads as u want in GT.. but lets not have a seperate subforum

If Auto can hav a seperate section why not food?? Its the most basic thread holding us together..

Whats this a “Food section” :S? C’mon guyz, we can’t have section for everything. Use GT for all these discussion. There won’t be any more addition of OT section in TE hereafter. Please refrain from asking for the same.
On one hand were trying to raise the level of this site by adding more Reviews and making it more tech oriented and on the other hand we have you guys asking for a Food Section.
I tell you what, go get a life! You can’t expect your food issues to be solved on the internet goddammit.
I say that a food section is a good idea. As long as the topics are about the best snacks for all-night modding/benching binge. Or about how to overclock the microwave to make cakes faster!

Greeny, as u yourself said this is a community first, then a site or tech forum..A community lives on food, So does a tech community, thus SoMe feel the need to discuss abt it and increase there tech prowess:P

About the idea of food section, its quite silly imo Just start a couple of threads to discuss recipies, hotels etc.
I vote for TE to renamed ‘RKMG Enclave’. :P(Roti, Kapdaa, Makaan and Gaadi too these days. :P)
TE is like a specialist store for free tech info and troubleshooting.
I don’t think anyone will walk into a Chemist/Druggist store and ask for 10Kgs of rice, 2Kgs Dal, 3 brooms, 2 buckets, etc.
“Feedback” is the official ‘application form to the mods/admins’ to solve site/forums related bugs.
One has to be absolutely correct while using application forms else it gets rejected- maybe hence the immediate closure of inappropriate threads which is definitely a mod/admin’s call.
Discussions can be conducted in General Talk imho.
But feedback is ending up like General Talk imho.
And like i had said elsewhere sometime back- will someone please disable post count in feedback.
Or maybe using the correct drivers for your brains so that it doesnt start getting overheated and malfunctioning resulting in posts that lead to flame wars.
Based my argument on the amt of traffic the recent threads generated..I thought it was obvious that the requests were there cause there were people who wanted to discuss Food as apparent from the recent threads…:S

It the right of a member to tell what he thinks would help the community as a whole..what works, wat doesnt work..ANd to help the moderators understand what the members want or intend..
The beauty of GT is the blend of the many flavours it has.
Plus all teh hott threads are always on top and can be caught easily.
Having too many subsections will mean having to visit each section specifically for something where as now it’s what catches your eye.
Sometimes i dont check certain threads on topics of my interest coz i may not be in the mood too- but a nice thread on something that never had me interested might catch my eye.
Now that auto zone is separate- i may not end up there as much as i checked up on auto related threads earlier.
Then going by the past of GT, we will soon need sections for moosic, Movies, Weather, birthdays, Obituary, etc.
It all depends on the trafic…Most regular users go through new posts so thats not much of an issue..If a see a CHICKEN TIKKA thread there, i’l go no matter what..
