Which firmware to update my LG 4163B to?

I just bought the LG 4163B DVD Writer.
The current firmware is A103. There are 2 versions of A104 on rpc1.org:

RPC1
Auto Reset

Which firmware should I upgrade to? I am totally new to DVD’s so I don’t know the difference between the 2 versions. I just want to make my drive region-free.

For Region Free, RPC1 is the firmware to go with.

You lose warranty if u flash to rpc1 firmware rmr that. If the flashing goes wrong and the drive is screwed, lg wont replace it.

follow the procedure exactly as mentioned and u’ll be fine..
drive gets screwed up, only if u screw up

flashed my sony dvd rom many times using DOS, never screwed up…but still there are chances to screw up unless there are some failproof flashers…

Got it for 3600 from Computer Selection, Lamington Road. It is a box pack. OEM version available for 3400 from PC Guide.
