Which IGP is better?

Hi,

Which IGP is the best among budget AMD boards? 740G or NV 7xxx/8200?

Looking to pair it with an X2 4600+/

+1 for AMD IGP

why not the 780G ?

740G = 690G , at least for games

AMD 780G would be the better bet.

Price. The 780G is well over budget. I’m building this for a friend and he doesn’t want to spend more than 3.5k on the mobo + he already has a 780G.

Thus the 740g.

in that case.. get a 8200/8300.. afaik the zotac 8200 or something comes for around 3.5k. mumbai price. could be cheaper elsewher.

Are they easily available? I didn’t know the 740g or NV8xx boards were available in India until today. Makes my task a little more difficult. Was looking mostly at NV 7x/AMD 690g boards.

I’m ordering it online, don’t see any listed on ITWares or Lynx.

How much M2A-VM costs

call em up and ask them. they should be able to arrange for it. alternatively you could pm the zotac rep here on TE - ‘zotac’.. he should be able to help you out too.

approx 2.3k

790GX > 780G > 8300 >** 8200 > 740G**
go with Zotac 8200 @ 3.5K

I believe NVIDIAs new GeForce 9 series will be splashing soon. Worth a look. Hybrid SLI and power saving a huge plus.

Lol stalker - that guy ain’t the rep for sure :stuck_out_tongue:

Many thanks, sTALKEr.

IIRC all the 8 series gpu’s were doomed to a premature death due to some problem with the manufacturing process right ?

I think that was only for the M or mobile series. Desktop ones are fine AFAIK.

Zotac

he most definitely is a rep for them. mebbe not official but still :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah right.. M2A-VM is around 3.5K right now.

Is the ASUS M3A78-VM available in the market… Its a basic 780G mobo minus eSATA, Firewire, HDMI & All solid caps…

I guess the most basic 780G mobo in market if available…

not significantly cheaper

if you’re on a really tight budget, but a 690V ( they cost ~2k) and overclock the IGP - another 50Mhz and they’re as good as a 690G
