Z-5500 Power Question

Hi all,

I have the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system. I want to know any idea what is the power usage of these speakers. I mean the output rating is 500 watts RMS. But how much electricity do they consume ???

I just want to know the operational power consumption.

Thanks

Hardly any… that 500W rating is hypothetical probably under some extreme situations that’ll blow the amp if kept at for more than a fraction of a second. A real 500W will cost lacs of rupees and weigh a hundred kilos. So they wont eat too much power… max of around 20-30W if the amp is really inefficient.

Thanks, I know that the 500 Watt RMS is not the consumption power. According to wikipedia

**Rated Power **– Nominal or continuous power and peak or maximum short-term power that the loudspeaker can handle (i.e. maximum allowed output power of the amplifier without destroying the loudspeaker. It is not the power that the passive loudspeaker produces)

What i wanted to know was, how much electricity does it consume. If it is just 20 to 30 W as u have said …then it is really cool !!!
